A Zoom Room is a private online room where people can meet online from all over the world. With the highest video and audio quality attending a workshop in a NZ Job Search Zoom Room is as natural as being there. Just like our live workshops, we only have a limited number of people attend which means we can focus on each person’s situation. Everyone in the room is able to speak, listen and take notes as well as type questions during the online workshop.
Once you’ve bought your NZ Job Search Job Search Workshop ticket, you and your other half (if you have one) will receive email instructions on how to access the room when the time comes for the workshop to start. You’ll also be sent the NZ Job Search Workshop Manual and after the workshop you’ll be added to the Secret, Private NZ Job Search Mastermind group.

Since tickets are strictly limited you’ll get yourself and your partner (married or dating) a coveted spot at the workshop. They are kept small so we can concentrate on each situation so there’s only 5 tickets per workshop and we’ve limited the amount of workshops we’re doing in total each year.

Workshops are usually on Thursday morning 7am NZ time and are 3 hours long. The workshop will contain a link to click to enter the online conference room where you will be able to chat in real time with us during the workshop. You must use the link given to you in the email to log on 5 minutes before the workshop start time.

WHEN DO THE WORKSHOPS START AND FINISH?
The online workshops are from 7am to 10am in the morning on a the advertised dates. The day’s that workshops are normally hosted are on Tuesdays or Thursdays NZST, but we do host online workshops over weekend days as well when demand is high.
WHAT STRATEGIES ARE USED TO FIND A JOB IN NZ?
The most common strategies are to apply through as many job boards and company applications online, while working with recruiters. Or to try to find companies themselves that may hire them or to use a service that will provide them with tools and support for their search.
WHAT ARE THE MAIN CHALLENGES MIGRANT AND LOCAL JOB SEEKERS FACE?
Poor understanding of the NZ culture and job market; how the hiring process works in NZ; lack of contacts; badly written cover letters or CVs; visa issues (no job offer = no visa); no – or weak – job search plan; no local experience; over or under-qualified; no idea where to get the best advice; second to the local competition to name but a few.

HOW DO YOU HELP JOB SEEKERS?
Our aim is to empower the job seeker by teaching them how to become self-sufficient in their job search – instead of by paying people to prepare their job search tools or to solely rely on job boards and recruiters to get them a job. We work with migrants from all over the world, and host regular online workshops in order to educate jobs seekers so they don’t waste their time, money and effort on exercises that yield poor success rates. The intensive workshops teach the job seeker everything they need to know in session, and how to do everything required to get themselves a job in New Zealand, starting the search from the country they’re in. They are supported throughout their job search with access to the Secret, Private Mastermind Group where they’ll receive continued advice, coaching, support and invitations to the live networking events when they arrive in NZ.
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN ATTEND ON ONE WORKSHOP TICKET?
One workshop ticket allows one couple – so two people, either dating or married, to attend. Friends and family members (2 sisters or 2 brothers) are not permitted to attend ‘as a couple’.
WHAT’S YOUR REFUND POLICY ON THE WORKSHOP?
Due to the nature of the workshop in that it is training in the expertise of job search there is no refund policy. If you are not able to attend the workshop on the day you booked for, and are not able to attend another at a future time, you can specify someone that can attend in your place. *Conditions apply.
HOW IS THE NZ JOB SEARCH JOB SEARCH WORKSHOP DIFFERENT TO OTHER FREE SEMINARS I HAVE SEEN ADVERTISED OR HEARD OF?
Seminars are different in that they are typically delivered to a crowd of people with a speaker giving general information to the crowd. They are often free because they are intended for the company to get in touch with people who they can then sell their services to, for example CV services or visa services.
The NZ Job Search Workshop is just that – an intimate, hands-on workshop where we teach you in detail how things work in the job market in NZ, how to think in order to be successful in your job search here – and how to continue to increase your career opportunities – how to prepare and maintain your own job search tools such as your personal brand, social profiles, LinkedIn profile, CVs, Cover Letters, Interviewing techniques etc, and finally how to actually go about getting yourself the job you want.
It’s important to us that you understand why we are teaching you how to do the things the way we suggest, and that you know how the things we teach you will continue to benefit you in the future. We also want to form relationships with you and this is why we limit the number of people we have in our workshops, as well as the amount of workshops we do in a year.
HOW IS THE nz job search METHOD DIFFERENT TO OTHER JOB SEARCH METHODS I HAVE HEARD OF?
The NZ Job Search Method has been strategically developed over time through intensive research, surveys done quarterly with the people who have the authority to make the hiring decisions, and through people’s personal experiences who have been part of the NZ Job Search family and have succeeded in getting themselves jobs, as well as with companies that tell us exactly what they want to see in a candidate.
The NZ Job Search Method has been tested all over the world, and has been refined especially for the New Zealand market. The program will continue to evolve through the continuous research that we do, and with the on-going assistance of our members who, like us, have made it our mission to assist people with job search.
We have a CV template which was designed and tested together with CEO’s and Hiring Managers, and not only have we had fantastic results, but we have managed to save countless people huge amounts of money since they are, with the help of our CV lesson, able to continue to produce professional CVs that are specifically tailored to market themselves with the very information that the people in authority want to see. The CV is just one of the examples we can give where we have managed to do this – differently.
Our method is not the old-school ‘pay someone to do your CV in NZ style’, apply through job boards to as many applications as you can, work solely with recruiters, talk to friends and HR managers strategy. Our method was designed through research of where the job search industry is going, and is an evolving answer to the international job skills shortage concern which some countries are already experiencing and others will experience in the near future. Our aim is to equip people with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in the future job markets internationally.
Typically, other job search training seminars and programs give information about more formal job search – they talk about keywords and ATS systems, job boards and recruiters, and how the typical recruitment system works here in NZ. They have lists of recruiters, and professional CV writing services etc. to assist you. They differ to us in that they put you in touch with people who will do the work for you, where our approach is to teach you why and how to get yourself a job in NZ. We do have a network for you to leverage off of and access to recruiters in different industries, as well as immigration, financial etc. agents to assist you should you want their services. We have found that by doing job search the NZ Job Search way, our job seekers are not only arguably better candidates for companies to hire, but that they are also able to get themselves jobs quicker, even though the job search process may differ from person to person.
WHO WILL BENEFIT BY DOING A WORKSHOP?
Anyone from any industry will benefit from doing the course. As far as immigration is concerned, we have immigration agents who can assist you to work out the best immigration strategy for you and your family to be eligible to work and even live in New Zealand if that’s an option. We also have professionals in the different areas of expertise (such as IT & Finance, or the Industrial Sector for example) who are able to give you advice on what you’ll require in terms of qualifications, experience or organisations you need to be part of.
Local job seekers are in a strong postion as they are eligible to work in NZ and most often have local experience, however they struggle to find work too – because of the strategy they are applying. We frequently work with those who have been made redundant; those who have been looking for a long time or who want to change industries and we specialise in migrant job search.
HOW CAN I SAVE MONEY IN THE LONG RUN BY PURCHASING A TICKET TO A JOB SEARCH WORKSHOP?
When you purchase a ticket you are paying for the in-depth training of each section of the job search process: When you attend free workshops and seminars you end up paying for professional CV/LinkedIn services (we’ve seen prices of up to $350 alone for one CV), and/or coaching sessions (1 hour interview couching session for $199), or Cover Letter writing services to name a few extra expenses, not to mention the time it takes to work out everything by researching and talking to people yourself through trial-and-error which costs you time and money while you search for your job.
This job search course will save you all that effort by teaching you what to do, how to do it and where to focus your time and effort. We’ve seen people spend thousands of dollars that they ‘don’t have’ on their job search because they thought they had a plan and then found out it wasn’t the best one in the amount of time they had.
HOW LONG DOES THE AVERAGE NZ JOB SEARCH MEMBER TAKE TO GET THEMSELVES A JOB?
The time it takes to secure a job offer differs from person to person, as some have got their job offer as little as two weeks of employing our techniques diligently and correctly, while others have taken longer. CAN YOU GUARANTEE ME A JOB?
No. Unfortunately, as much as we’d love to, we can’t make someone hire you. Only an employer can guarantee you a job. If anyone other than an employer guarantees you a job in return for a fee, our advice would be to walk away from that deal.
However, what we can do, and will do, is equip you with the best tools and processes to improve your odds and chances of securing a job. We’ll give you the foundation and the strategy, but it’s up to you to put in the effort to apply what we teach you and get yourself that job. We are always around to keep assisting you wherever we can, but if you take this course you’ll need to put in the hours of hard work yourself.
